In order to help commemorate a loved one’s life, we will plant a Memory Tree to serve as a living tribute that could stand for hundreds of years! Sometimes called a Sympathy Tree, it will be planted near our secluded Scattering Garden in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
Planting a tree in memory of someone can be a special way to honor him or her; your Memory Tree will serve as a beautiful remembrance of their life.
We will respectfully scatter the ashes during the planting process, and place an engraved and personalized memorial stone beneath his or her Memory Tree. A Memory Tree can also be planted without the ashes of a loved one. For some families, they simply want a living memorial to stand for their loved one. And we will place a memory stone below, to serve as a testament to the family’s love and reverence.

The ashes will be placed around the base of the tree, a scattering process known as ringing. Fresh mulch will blanket the ashes and display your loved one’s beautifully engraved memorial stone.

One tree, two devoted people. Couples may opt to have their ashes scattered around a tree planted specifically in their memory. Adjacent to the tree we will place a personalized memorial stone to commemorate the lives of the loving couple.
Planting a decorative shrub in memory of someone can be a more affordable option to honor your loved one. A flowering Memory Shrub will serve as a beautiful remembrance of their life. We will respectfully scatter the ashes and place an engraved and personalized memorial stone beneath his or her flowering shrub.
A Memory Shrub can also be planted without the ashes of a loved one. For some families, they simply want a living memorial to stand in honor of their loved one. We will also place a memory stone at the base of the shrub, to serve as a testament to the family’s love and reverence.

In order to receive the Condolence Code necessary for the discount, we request the appropriate documentation verifying the person’s service. This could be a copy of their discharge form, ID card, certificate, etc. If these are not available, please give us a call to discuss other forms of verification.
This discount does not apply to burial at sea.
