You can say goodbye with a Burial at Sea. It’s the perfect way to reflect the lives and loves of individuals who felt a special connection with oceans and seashores. We make the process as smooth as possible.

We provide both attended and unattended burial-at-sea options in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Topsail Island, North Carolina, and Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Attended Burial at Sea

If you choose to attend the burial at sea, we will put you in direct contact with the boat captain to schedule your trip. On your scheduled evening, you will simply meet him at the boat slip to begin your time on the water. (Scatterings typically start after 6:00 pm, depending on the location.) You will spend about 1.5 hours on the water. 

Due to the unpredictability of the weather and water conditions, please be advised that suitable weather will need to be confirmed the day before the scheduled release. If weather is not conducive to a safe trip, the captain will call to inform you and reschedule for as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding, as the safety of our customers and crew is a top priority.

Please note that the attended Burial at Sea is typically only available from April through October, due to potentially harsh winter weather conditions.

Unattended Burial at Sea

If you cannot attend the ceremony, we offer this respectful scattering option. This service is conducted without family or friends present. You send the ashes, and we will notify you when the scattering occurs. Typically, this is within 30 days of when you send the ashes, as long as the weather permits. 

Both of these ceremonies create a perfect resting place for anyone who enjoyed the open water. You can plan a beautiful ocean burial with either of these options.
