When the time comes, your ashes will be scattered with care on our private property, which overlooks the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and portions of the James River. An engraved Memorial Stone inscribed with “In memory of (your name)”, will be placed in the scatter garden.
Our Scatter Garden
The property that surrounds our Scattering Garden is still very much in its natural state. It has been cleared only enough to enhance the breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and portions of the James River.
It’s an extraordinary site where every hour of the day brings new gifts. After sunrise, early morning clouds often nestle at eye level just across the river. A nearby waterfall provides soothing sounds of rest and tranquility. The light breeze is as constant as the abundant wildlife living in and around this bluff. Later, a spectacular sunset over majestic mountains will take center stage. And after the sun goes down, the stars take over; away from the glow of city lights, the crystal-clear views of the heavens are rivaled only by those of the mountains. Here, life is undisturbed and unfiltered…revealing the awe of the Creator’s handiwork each day.
The Process
When you select this option, we’ll record your order in our records. We’ll also order your memorial stone engraved with your name. We’ll place this stone in our garden to reserve your place.
At the appropriate time, the person who is handling your affairs will contact us. We’ll ship them a package with all the necessary materials to package and send your remains. This includes:
- Boxes
- Label
- Tape
- Simple Instructions
They can choose to ship this from a local post office, or contact us for personal pickup. After we receive your ashes, we’ll spread them at your designated place with care and dignity.
Finally, we’ll send a Certificate of Release recording the date and exact location of your remains.
Your loved ones can visit and remember your life during our Days of Celebration. We hold these twice a year, in the spring and fall.
