Aerial Ash Scattering
Ash Scattering By Airplane
For those interested in an aerial burial for their loved one, we offer Aerial Ash Scattering over the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Bedford County, Virginia. The Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia are one of the most beautiful and iconic parts of the American landscape. For mountain lovers, one would be hard pressed to find a more beautiful mountain range.
The mountains are also home to the Blue Ridge Parkway, known as America’s Favorite Drive. Furthermore, these mountains are part of the Appalachian Trail, one of the most visited hiking and scenic paths in the world. Scattering ashes by air is a great idea for someone who loved to travel as well.
Your loved one will be released near the Peaks of Otter (Flat Top, Sharp Top and Harkening Hill) within 30 days of receipt of the cremated remains. Once the Ash Scattering by Airplane service has been performed, you will receive a Certificate of Release that includes the day and location of the scattering services.
Witnessed Air Scattering Release
For those family members who want to observe the ash scattering from the ground, we will coordinate a day, time frame and location (near the Peaks of Otter) so that family and friends may gather to witness the scattering.
Due to the unpredictability of the weather, please be advised the date and time frame will not be confirmed until the morning of the scheduled release. So, though all efforts will be made to scatter on scheduled days, it could possibly take several attempts to coordinate the scattering and viewing. We appreciate your understanding as our pilot and crew’s safety is paramount.
Un-Witnessed Air Scattering Release
Because of the unpredictability of the weather, we offer the un-witnessed option to allow the pilot to take advantage of favorable flight conditions when they are presented. This involves no coordination on your part, though we will inform you on the day of the aerial ash scattering.
For your steadfast love is great to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.
Just wanted to write to thank you all for a great experience, even after the terrible time of my husband’s death. Everything went so smoothly, which brought me great comfort and a sense of peace. I can’t tell you how relieved I am knowing he’s at rest in such a beautiful place. He always loved the mountains….
