Our post cremation ash scattering comes in several forms. You can send us ashes to be scattered in our scatter garden, around a memorial tree, or at sea. We also have a special place on our property for pets. Click to learn more about your options.

Scatter Garden

Memorialize a loved one who had an appreciation for nature and its boundless beauty. With this post cremation ash scattering, we spread ashes in a mountaintop garden. After scattering, we place an engraved memorial stone at the site. We’ve also added the option to scatter a couple’s ashes together with a single, shared memorial stone.

Memory Tree

A Memory Tree serves as a living tribute that could stand for hundreds of years. We plant these memorial trees near our secluded Scattering Garden in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. We reverently scatter the ashes during the planting process. Afterwards, we place an engraved stone to mark the location. You can also send a couple’s ashes to be scattered together at the same time. 

Burial at Sea

We offer two options for burial at sea — attended and unattended. If you would like to attend a burial at sea ash scattering, we put you in touch with the boat captain. On your scheduled day, you meet him to begin your time on the water. If you choose an unattended service, the boat captain will conduct the ceremony with no family or friends present. If you choose, you can also send a couple’s ashes to be scattered at the same time.

Pets

We’ve created a separate Scattering Garden for beloved pets. If you send us your pet’s ashes, we will scatter them in this garden. Afterwards, we place an engraved stone to memorialize their place.

Personal Pickup

If you do not want to ship your ashes to us, we can pick them up for an additional fee. The rate for this is $50/hour of travel. The total price varies based on travel and distance. Please contact us with questions about calculating your distance.
